We Specialize In Safe & Responsible Pain Management

Every year, countless lives are impacted by opioid addiction. While many assume overdoses come from illicit drugs like heroin, the truth is that 3 out of 4 deaths are linked to prescription pain pills—often provided by well-meaning healthcare professionals.

Our Approach to Pain Management
At Titanium Surgical Arts, we are committed to safe, modern, and responsible pain management. That’s why we do not prescribe large quantities of narcotics after surgery. Instead, we use EXPAREL®, a long-lasting, non-opioid medication that provides targeted pain relief for up to 72 hours after your procedure. This allows most of our patients to recover comfortably without needing opioids at all, reducing the risk of dependence or misuse. Our goal is always to keep you safe, supported, and pain-free — using the most advanced and evidence-based techniques available.
The Facts
Many overdose deaths we hear about are not from heroin, but from pain pills prescribed by doctors. Three-quarters of opioid deaths come from prescriptions. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons are the top prescribers for patients under 19 and second for those 20–40. The U.S. has only 5% of the world’s population but prescribes 80% of oxycodone and 99% of hydrocodone. Early legitimate use is linked to higher risk of misuse later.

Opioids are sometimes necessary, but their overuse is dangerous. In the U.S., 60 people die daily from opioid overdose—44 from prescriptions, 16 from illicit drugs. Many addicts first used opioids for medical reasons, later turning to cheaper street drugs. Most pills found on the street come from patients’ medicine cabinets, not dealers. Patients must use opioids responsibly and dispose of leftovers properly.
Multimodal Pain Management
Pain is complex and best treated by combining methods. Multimodal management uses pre-operative NSAIDs, post-operative prescriptions if needed, and local anesthetics to reduce inflammation and block pain.
